I have to admit that it could have used a better editing. The grammar nazi's out there are going to have some problems with this one. While it didn't end with a traditional cliffhanger, it did leave off in a way so that you know there's going to be a second book.which I hope will be soon. All in all, it's a good first book for the series. I liked that all of the characters (the good guys anyway) seemed to have a sense of humor to one degree or another.
We did get some hints into their different backgrounds so I think it will probably get expanded on in future books. What it lacks in character development, it makes up for with action. There are several different types of supernatural beings in Silver and Shadows and it keeps things interesting, unpredictable and moving at a fast pace.
